The Holiday Bikini – The Method
WHere is a simplified interpretation of a drink found on our latest cocktail list. This is a party-sized pre-mixed which is packed with the flavours of a Christmas time, rendering it perfect for a holiday party. Reserve the remaining syrup for morning drinks, puddings, or to mix more rounds of this cocktail.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 servings
Ingredients for the Clementine Cordial (yields 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g caster sugar
To make the Drink (produces 850ml, serving 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing
Directions
Making the Cordial: Combine the listed ingredients inside a pot, heat until it reaches a simmer, agitating until the sugar dissolves. After that, turn off the heat and let it to cool down completely. Transfer into a sterilised bottle, close it keeping it chilled, it can be stored for up to four weeks.
To make Cocktail Base: Mix the specified spirits and syrup in a large bottle, allow it to infuse for an hour, then pass it through preferably using muslin, so it's completely strained.
To serve: Pour 85ml from the cocktail base into your mixing glass packed with ice, and agitate lightly for a minute to chill. Strain to a frosted cocktail glass or similar, top with the cranberries and complete it with a light spray of the essential oil over the top.
